Welcome to Lineage Ledger ("Lineage Ledger", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using lineageledger.com and its related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@lineageledger.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Your Content

Lineage Ledger allows you to upload, store, and share personal content including text, photos, and documents ("Content"). You retain all ownership rights to your Content. By uploading Content, you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and transmit it solely for the purpose of operating the Service on your behalf.

You are solely responsible for the Content you upload. You agree not to upload Content that:

• Infringes any third-party intellectual property or privacy rights;
• Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or harassing;
• Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code.

4. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Family archives you create are private by default and are only accessible to members you explicitly invite. We do not sell your personal data or family content to third parties.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its related systems;
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service by automated means;
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

The Lineage Ledger name, logo, and all Service software, designs, and features are owned by or licenced to us and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lineage Ledger and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

You may delete your account and associated Content at any time from your account settings. We will remove your data from our active systems within a reasonable time following deletion. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period as required by law or operational necessity.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice within the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
